ND Chapter Places 2nd at BAP Regional Best Practices Competition

March 2015

Please join us in congratulating Hannah Lin, Wei Lin, and Mike Schneider for their second place finish in the Beta Alpha Psi Regional Meeting Best Practices Competition, Financial Literacy Topic.

Hannah, Wei, and Mike, along with Kelsey Amarosa, had developed and delivered two financial literacy presentations to non-business students.  The first presentation titled "How to love your money" covered specific topics such as ten things college students should know about money, interest, and how to rent that first apartment.  The second presentation translated the many forms and financial decisions that need to be made on the first day of work.  This presentation focused on HMOs, PPOs, 401(k)s, and taxes.  The presentations were very well received and will be expanded next year by delivering the presentations in the dorms.

ND Chapter Places 1st at BAP PRWI Case Competition

August 2013

The competition, sponsored by Moss Adams LLP, brought together more than 70 Beta Alpha Psi students from multiple chapters to analyze and recommend solutions to problems faced by three real not-for-profit organizations. In teams of four, the students addressed accounting, finance and/or information system issues as they related to the business problems of the participating organizations. The teams presented their recommendations to a panel of judges that included a representative of the not-for-profit organization, a faculty member, and a partner from Moss Adams.

The winning team was comprised of Hannah Lin (University of Notre Dame), Nick Brazell (Seattle University), Michael Visconti (Elon University), and Evan O’Keeffe (Bentley University).

ND Chapter Places 2nd at BAP Regional Best Practices Competition

April 2013

Please join us in congratulating the team of Ashlee Hunt (MSA, 2014); Hannah Bliss (MSA, 2014); Paula Casini (MSA, 2014), and Hannah Lindman (Senior, 2014). They placed second in the Beta Alpha Psi Regional Best Practices Competition, Strategic Planning Division, last week at the Beta Alpha Psi Regional Meeting held in Indianapolis.

Under the leadership of Ashlee, your President, the team drafted a mission statement for our chapter consistent with the Notre Dame mission statement. Focusing on community service and professional partnership, the team proposed that annually our chapter holds an “Impact Networking” event where professionals from one of the firms come to campus and assist us with a project benefitting a local not for profit. This year’s event was held with KPMG. Perley Elementary received boxes of school supplies donated and packed by the BAP members and KPMG professionals.
